Abstract: This article mainly investigates the phonetic correspondence between Chinese and English objective nouns, emphasizing on the similarities and differences in syllable structure of English and Chinese. The aims are to help Chinese learners get to know more about English Phonetics and learn how to pronounce English correctly, express their own thoughts clearly during the daily communication and make themselves understood. Through the comparison of the similarities and differences of English and Chinese syllable structure, tone and intonation, this article illustrate some phenomenon of phonetic correspondence of English and Chinese objective nouns in translation.
