摘要：近年来，高考英语试卷在阅读部分对考生提出了更高的要求。英语课外阅读作为课内阅读的有益补充，能够更加针对学生的个性和阅读兴趣来提高阅读能力水平。本论文在新课程标准的基础上，以文献梳理和文本阅读为研究方法，从已有的高中英语课外阅读研究分析中发现：已有研究主要集中在课外阅读书目体系构建、课外阅读有效性、课外阅读技巧以及课外阅读指导四个方面，并提出教学设想和尝试，如提供趣味性强有吸引力的素材、减轻作业量保证课外阅读时间并施以有效监督、加强教师的指引作用等。在此基础上，本研究提出四点教学建议：课内阅读与课外阅读相结合、建立客观有效的阅读评估考核机制、通过现场演示对比使用和不使用阅读技巧的差距，让学生得到直观的感受以及帮助学生使用元认知策略加强课外阅读的自我指导，以期为高中英语课外阅读提供参考。
