中文摘要：关于母语在外语教学中的作用，外语教学界存在两种不同的观点：一种是夸大目的语的作用，主张全英文教学；另一种则是认为母语在英语教学中扮演着重要的角色，应该在外语教学中使用母语。在初中英语教学中，关于是否使用母语、如何控制母语使用，一直是教育界同行争论的话题。因此本论文主要研究的是母语迁移在初中英语教学中的影响以及如何有效控制母语的使用来提高初中英语课堂的效率。本论文通过分析母语在初中英语课堂上使用存在的一些问题提出课堂上控制母语使用的建议，主要包括调动学生的英语学习积极性、创造英语学习的环境和氛围，激发学生学习英语的兴趣、增加母语输入的质量和数量、培养学生说英语的能力。
