中文摘要：在高中英语教学中，阅读一直占据重要地位。但是，对于大部分学生来说，独自完成阅读理解是困难的。事实上，英语的阅读能力是一种综合的能力,高中英语阅读理解涉及的文章体裁各式各样,时而包含丰富的文化知识,时而含有特定的背景知识。在平时做练习的时候,学生们总会遇到这样一些文章,虽然在文章阅读的过程中没碰到一个生词,没有语法障碍,但就是理解不了文章的中心思想，做不出正确答案。本文就这一情况，通过探究图式理论在英语阅读中的作用，强调先验知识，即背景知识和阅读理解之间的关系，以及背景知识在阅读理解中的重要性。从而总结出传授背景知识的教学策略，以此来提高高中生的阅读理解能力。
