一、教材内容分析  

 

This unit is the eleventh unit of Grade 9 English. This unit takes ‘emotion’ as the topic, and students are required to write their experiences as a task to establish an optimistic attitude towards life. Meanwhile, students can master the usage of ‘make’ and phrases, such as ‘rather than, would rather’. There is a story in this unit, which can stimulate students’ learning interest and deepen the students’ understanding of happiness. In this unit, it also has some opportunities for students to express in English. The key points of this unit are learning to face difficulties positively and understanding the meaning of happiness. Therefore, the contents of this unit can help students acquire knowledge and improve their ability of expression.

  

二、学习者特征分析

 

The ninth grade students have certain English foundation and language learning ability, and strong language perception ability, which are the advantages of English learning. On the one hand, students are more motivated to learn English. On the other hand, as they enter the ninth grade, they differ from each other in terms of basic knowledge, language use and study interest. Meanwhile, they are under some psychological pressure because of secondary school entrance examination. Therefore, there are different activities for students to participate in the class. They can also strengthen interest in learning English. Students do group activities, such as ‘free talk, role-play’, so that they can focus on the class activities.
