一、教材内容分析
This is the second unit of Go for it (for Grade 9). The content of the textbook is based on the situation that the students will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival after the beginning of the new semester, taking the festival as the topic. In section A, it shows various festivals all around the world through listening and reading, and lays the foundation for learning object clause and exclamatory sentences. After summarizing the grammar, part B focuses more on consolidating and applying what has been learned through listening, reading, and writing. This unit is close to students’ life, which can stimulate their learning interests. Therefore, students will have the desire to express themselves, and the learning efficiency will be improved accordingly. This unit is planned to be completed in five periods.

After entering the ninth grade, students have certain English foundation, language learning ability and language perception ability, which are the merits of learning English. However, students in Grade 9 need to prepare for the entrance examination, so the students’ learning tasks of all subjects are aggravated, and their psychological pressure is great. In addition, the students in the class are highly polarized. Some students are impatient in the learning process. And as a language subject, listening and writing are very important, but most of the students are weak in these aspects. At this stage, the teachers should encourage students to study actively and stimulate their interest in learning. Meanwhile, flexible teaching design and rich activities should be supplemented to guide students to develop good learning habits.
