一、教材内容分析

This unit mainly talks about the location of object for topic. Students should master usage of position proposition ‘in, on, under’ and basic sentence to ask and answer the  location of object, such as, ‘where is\are the.......?It’s\they’re \on\under\in the.....’. Students can learn to use the learning strategy of listening to key and specific words, identify the location of different objects. What’s more, students’ reading, writing and speaking skills can also be improved. This unit is suitable for students’ real life. It’s easy for students to learn. Students can use position proposition and basic sentence of this unit skillfully in their daily life. In this way, students not only know well their home environment, but also love their home more. More importantly, it can help students to cultivate a good habit of placing their school things properly.

二、学习者特征分析

The target students of this course are the seventh grades who have just entered junior high school. Some of them have never learned English in primary school. Therefore, they have great interest and curiosity in English. Teachers should grasp this favorable factor and maintain their strong curiosity and thirst for knowledge. What’s more,the teacher should pay attention to the cultivation of students’ interest in learning English. All kinds of teaching activities should be well designed by teacher, such as, active adoption of novel, games, radio and so on. These activities can stimulate their learning interest, learning enthusiasm and positive thinking. The teacher should let them to actively take part in class activities and be the host of the class.
