Abstract

 

This thesis studies the political discourse from the perspective of critical metaphor analysis. This thesis analyze the underling type of conceptual metaphor and find out the correspondence and difference of these two corpora. The results are as follows: this article focuses on the five metaphors that most commonly used in these two corpora, namely travel metaphors, war metaphors, architectural metaphors, family metaphors, and religious metaphor. According to the analysis of metaphor, the metaphorical interpretation of national political discourse will help the masses better understand of our country’s ideology and political ideas and they also enhanced people’s sense of belonging. This article helps readers to understand different political discourse, and are very useful for both English learners and teachers.
