摘要：本文以现代英语语法学中的理论为基础，主要研究了英语动词补足语成分与修饰性状语的的语法现象，旨在探讨英语动词补足语成分与修饰性状语的使用特征。

本研究采用语料库语言学的研究方法，以定量和定性相结合的研究手段，在语料库研究的基础上借助语言统计软件SPSS，通过比较动词补足语和修饰性状语的差异，从句法形式、句法功能和语义功能等方面揭示了中国英语学习者在使用动词补足语和修饰性状语方面的某些特点。

研究结果显示，大部分的英语学习者很不熟悉这两者的具体用法以及它们之间的异同，甚至会出现使用错误的情况。通过对比研究，对今后的英语学习和教学起到一定的启示作用。
