中文摘要：研究小学高年级课外英语阅读的现状，具有重要的意义。《义务教育英语课程标准》（2011年版）中的二级目标包括：“能借助图片读懂简单的故事或小短文，并养成按意群阅读的习惯。”“能正确朗读所学故事或短文。”课外英语阅读是提高学生英语阅读能力的重要途径。因此，本研究选取杭州市学军小学五、六年级学生，对其课外英语阅读情况进行调查。本研究采用问卷调查法和访谈法。通过调查，本研究发现小学英语课外阅读存在五大问题：缺乏良好的课外英语阅读习惯，阅读策略使用不当，缺乏阅读时间，缺乏适当的阅读材料，缺乏教师和家长的指导。为了改善现状，本研究提出了四点建议：创造一个良好的氛围、激发学生的阅读兴趣，重视课外英语阅读的指导，选择合适的课外英语阅读材料，引起社会的关注。希望教师、家长、学生、社会都能更加重视课外英语阅读，并采取相关措施，最终促进学生阅读能力的提高。
