　　本课题实践所选书籍为《夏天》，是美国作家伊迪丝•华顿的一部以爱情为主要描写题材的小说。小说描写了下层社会的女主人公反叛现实,追求理想却又被现实所困的悲剧故事,展现了她成长过程中内心的矛盾和挣扎。小说以男女主人公的爱情发展为主线，描写了女主人公的心理变化与成长过程，启发读者在现实与理想之间做出正确的选择。

本论文主要分为两部分：翻译部分和小论文部分。

翻译部分的材料来自一部爱情小说《夏天》的第4-6章，相对全书来说算是开头部分。小说以刻画人物形象为中心，通过完整的故事情节和环境描写来反映社会生活。《夏天》初版于1917年，小说发生的背景是新英格兰。该书描写了出身卑微的女孩与雄心勃勃的城市男孩之间的浪漫恋情，但女孩一直生活在过去的阴影中，在爱情中无法很好的做出决定。

小论文部分简单介绍了翻译材料及作者，叙述了翻译过程中所遇到的问题以及所采取的解决方案，并总结了在翻译过程中所得到的经验教训和获得的启示。

INTRODUCTION

The practice is chosen from SUMMER, a love story written by Edith Wharton, an American female author. The novel describes the tragic story of the heroine who rebels against reality, pursues her ideal but be trapped by reality, and shows her inner contradiction and struggle during her growth. The novel takes the love development of the heroine and heroine as the main line and describes the heroine's psychological change and growth process. It inspires readers to make right choice between reality and ideal.

This paper is divided into two parts: translation part and essay part.

The material of translation comes from Chapter 4-6 of a love story Summer, which is the beginning of the whole book. The novel centers on depicting the characters, and reflects social life through a complete story plot and environmental description. Summer was first published in 1917. The background of the novel is New England. The book describes the romance between a girl of humble origin and an ambitious city boy, but the girl has been living in the shadow of the past and is unable to make good decisions in their love affair.

The part of the essay briefly introduces the material of translation and the author. Then describes the problems encountered in the process of translation and the solutions to them. Finally, it summarizes the experience and lessons learned in the process of translation and the enlightenment gained.
