摘要：在新课改的浪潮下，各学者对英语教学的提升提出了不同的观点，老师们也积极响应素质教育的应用,将核心素养作为教育教学活动的重要目标。 阅读作为初中英语教学中的重点和难点之一，在教学中老师需要结合文本内容，以及学生的学习能力和兴趣来开展教学。 根据核心素养的要求来设计阅读活动，培养学生的语言能力和思维品质等，这样能够有效提高教学质量。本文主要分为四个部分，第一部分是绪论，主要写了研究的背景，研究目的以及研究的重要性。第二部分是文献综述，主要写了国内外对核心素养的研究现状。第三部分写了基于核心素养的初中英语阅读读前，读中以及读后的活动设计。第四部分是结语，主要写了本研究的应用，局限性以及对本研究的建议。

本论文主要研究内容是基于核心素养的初中英语阅读活动设计以及如何设计活动才能提高学生的阅读能力。
