中文摘要：委婉语是人们日常生活中的一种语言现象和一种社会文化现象。委婉语不仅是人们在交际过程中采用一种委婉迂回的语言形式来达成令人感到愉悦舒服的表达方式，而且是一些社会现象或人们心里面的一面镜子。比如在使用过程中会考虑到避讳、禁忌、礼貌等问题。所以在日常生活中我们可以使用委婉语来避免让人们不舒服的表达。本文从语用学委婉语的角度分析，从经典的美国电视剧 《绝望主妇》中摘抄的例句，前四季作为主要研究对象，重点分析情景语境，分析其具有代表性的委婉语对话，总结委婉语的使用技巧。除此之外，通过赏析委婉语在不同语境中的表达效果，最终探究委婉语的使用对人们生活的影响。委婉语可视为一种润滑剂，缓解人与人针锋相对的时候，所以委婉语不仅可以体现语言的魅力，还可以显现出一个为人处世的智慧。
