中文摘要：语言是一种社会现象，是一种社会交际，它是在人们长期的社会生活实践中创造出来的，每个国家的文化色彩都是独特的，每一个国家的语言形成的都离不开其特定的文化背景。现阶段的中国学生来说，英语这门科已经成为了他们的第二语言，然而很多学生对英语国家的文化背景知识不了解，这就导致了学生缺乏异文化意识的问题，只知道应付学校的考试，忽略了学习英语这门语言的意义，我认为，学习任何一门语言都是为了更方便的交流和沟通，学习任何一种语言都有必要了解这个语言国家的背景文化知识。因此在英语教学中，教师必须导入一定的英语文化背景知识，来提高英语教学质量。
