一、教材内容分析   

    This unit is the first unit in the first volume of Grade 8 textbook Go for it. The content of this unit is based on the situation that the students just have spent their summer vacation, and they will be interested in talking about their experiences and activities in the past. Because the topic is close to the reality of students’ life, and summer vacation is an impressive time for children, they will have a strong desire to express themselves, and their learning efficiency will be promoted accordingly. The indefinite pronouns, and special questions and general questions of the simple past tense are the focus of teaching in this unit. After studying this unit, students will be able to use key words, phrases and sentence patterns to talk about past experiences and share their happiness with others. A total of five periods are arranged for this unit.

 

二、学习者特征分析

Grade Eight students already have a certain foundation of English and some kind of language learning ability, which is their advantage in English learning. However, as they enter the eighth grade, students are differentiated in their studies. Some students can’t catch up with others in English learning, and lose patience in the learning process. As a teacher, we should encourage them to learn actively and stimulate their interest in learning by flexible teaching design and colorful activities. It is also necessary for us to guide students to develop good learning habits and adopt proper methods in their study.
