摘 要
随着人类社会、经济和文化的迅速发展，多义词在商务英语信函在商务英语中被广泛的使用，并在商务英语信函的研究中发挥着至关重要的作用。本文从两个方面，对商务英语信函中的多义词进行分析。首先从认知语言学的角度分析了多义词的三种表达方式即隐喻，转喻，图像图表。其次，从三个方面研究了商务英语信函中多义词的选择标准，最后得出结论：商务信函词义是人们结合特殊的商务背景利用多义词已有的普通词义通过隐喻和转喻的手段派生而来。希望人们能准确地掌握和翻译商务英语信函中的多义词，从而提高了商务信函的阅读和书写能力。
