Abstract
Cohesion is one of the most important means to achieve textual coherence. Textual cohesion is widely used in business English correspondence, which plays an important role in the English-Chinese translation of business English correspondence. Business English correspondence is playing an increasingly important role in international business activities, and the study of English-Chinese translation of business English correspondence has been paid more and more attention. This paper analyzes the textual features of business English correspondence and the English-Chinese translation of business English correspondence from two aspects of grammar and vocabulary by combining the cohesion theory of Halliday and Hasan. In this way, strategies applicable to the English-Chinese translation of business English correspondence can be deeply explored to achieve more accurate translation. Through the analysis of English-Chinese translation strategies, it is necessary to ensure that the information conveyed by the translator is more accurate and faithful to the original text, thus achieving the purpose of promoting the smooth progress of bilateral trade.
