Abstract
Total Physical Response (TPR). It is a kind of teaching method that encourages the integration of language and behavior, uses body movements to teach a foreign language to students, adheres to the principle of "listening before speaking", lets students observe and imitate the teachers' actions, and enables students to understand by themselves and speak the foreign language smoothly. Among them, using body movements to teach foreign languages is the core. TPR has been recognized by many teachers and scholars and has been well used in domestic English teaching. It is widely used in primary school English teaching. Firstly, this paper will make a brief summary of the topic of the paper. Secondly, it will briefly analyze the current situation of English vocabulary teaching for young children from three aspects: teachers, students, and vocabulary teaching methods. Then, it will elaborate on the definition and development of TPR. And the last part will focus on the practical application of TPR in children's English vocabulary in-depth discussion.
