中文摘要：在全球化的背景之下，国与国之间的联系不断加强，他们互相影响，互相联系。因此，跨文化交际也成为了一个普遍而又重要的话题。众所周知，刻板印象在跨文化交际中普遍存在，并且也会对跨文化交际产生十分巨大的影响。

本文主要研究了在华留学生在来到中国之前和来到中国之后分别对中国人具有什么样的刻板印象，并对此产生的原因进行了深刻探讨，最后还提出了一些方法来减少他们对中国人的消极刻板印象。

经调查发现，在华留学生对中国人的积极的刻板印象包括：“勤奋的”、“乐于助人的”和“和蔼的”等。而他们对中国人的消极的刻板印象包括有“爱钱的”和“狡猾的”等。再者，本研究认为造成他们形成这样的刻板印象的原因主要包括以下几个方面： 语言障碍,文化差异,个人因素和大众媒体的影响。通过更加注重汉语教学，在公共场合遵守纪律，让更多的外国人了解中国文化等方式，可以帮助减少他们对中国人的消极印象，从而使得留学生与中国学生之间的跨文化交流展开的更加顺利，缓解文化隔阂。
