摘要：阅读教学是初中英语教学的重要组成部分。教育部（2012）曾发布文件指出，发展学生听、说、读、写技能是语言教学不可或缺的有机组成部分。阅读是学生进行语言输出和表达的重要基础和关键因素。如今，随着核心素养理念的提出，如何将英语学科核心素养更好地渗透进教学实践已经成为非常重要的一项任务。因此，对学生进行英语阅读的能力训练是非常关键的，也是培养其核心素养的重要途径。本文基于英语学科核心素养的要求，以牛津译林版初中英语八年级(上) Unit7 Seasons为例，探索阅读教学执教理念，解读实际阅读课堂案例从而实现学生知识体系的构建，学习能力的提升，思维品质的发展以及文化品格的塑造，并且提出更有效的初中英语阅读教学策略。本研究认为，教师应当精准设计阅读问题，科学搭建学习支架，合理发掘文化元素，从而有效地将核心素养的要求践行于英语阅读教学中，为学生的终身学习和发展奠定基础。
