摘要：《红楼梦》是中国封建社会末期的一部百科全书，蕴含着重要的思想价值和非凡的艺术成就，在国内外享有极高的知名度。书中语言表现形式多样，风格独特，内容丰富，许多精妙绝伦的委婉语尤为突出，被公认是近现代汉语艺术的集大成者。该书已被翻译为多国文字，其中杨宪益的英译版则被认为是中国人翻译的全译本中的经典之作。本文从《红楼梦》杨译本中委婉语翻译的现状入手，切入文化转向这一研究视角，对该译本所包含的委婉语现象进行分类比较，在此基础上重点研究其中委婉语英译时所运用的文化转向策略，希望翻译实践者能够重视中西文化研究及跨文化交际因素。
