摘要：电影作为一种世界性的流行艺术形式，电影在各国文化交流中的作用越来越明显。特别是，翻译得好的电影名称可以成为中美文化交流的一块踏脚石。本文将采用现有的电影名称翻译实例来演示功能对等理论可以如何提高翻译的质量。研究发现，借助功能对等理论翻译的电影名可以大大减少文化差异和公众对中美文化习俗的异化感，并以此达到促进两国文化沟通的目的。
