摘要：科技的发展使得人与人之间的距离被不断拉近，各个国家之间的政治,经济和文化的交流也变得越来越频繁。而中国,作为一个拥有上下5000年历史的国家，越来越多来自各国的人民对中国的传统文化产生了浓厚的兴趣。《红楼梦》，是中国四大名著之一，除了它里面除了蕴含对封建传统的讽刺,对达官贵族兴衰的描写，也生动形象的通过人物和情节发展向我们展示了在作者曹雪芹的年代中国传统服饰之美。作者通过描写这些传统服饰，展示了里面每个人的身份地位甚至命运。目前《红楼梦》较为完整的译本共有两个，一个出自杨宪益和他的夫人戴乃迭共同翻译的；另一个则是由大卫·霍克斯和约翰·闵德福共译。两种译本各有特点，前者更贴近中国文化的表达方式，而后者则更符合西方读者的阅读习惯。这两种翻译各有各的好处，对我们研究中国传统服饰有非常大的借鉴意义。
