摘要：女性主义是两性在社会、经济和政治上平等的信仰。女性主义对美国文化产生了重要的影响，并在美国迅速流行起来，特别是在第二次世界大战以后。本文以美国女性主义价值观和相关理论为基础，以美国著名情景喜剧《老友记》为例，探究美国女性主义的主要特征。其次，本文从女性主义的角度来探讨第二性之他者地位、父权制以及三位女主人公在职业、爱情、婚姻、孕产等方面的不同选择。本文结合电视剧相关场景，从理论上对《老友记》进行解读。以往对女性主义的研究主要是从理论层面进行探讨，而本文以《老友记》为例，将女性主义基本理论与具体实例相结合，探讨女性主义在美国人日常生活中的体现。
