一、教材内容分析

  “This is my sister” is the second unit in Grade Seven of People’s Education Press. It is about the appellation of family members that students are most familiar with. Through introducing the characters in the photos，help students learn the sentence patterns: This/That is ..., These/Those are... and Who is /are.... However, there are many new words in this unit, involving the singular and plural transformation of nouns and the sentence patterns of introducing family members, which are difficult for students. So this unit starts with words, stimulates students’ interest in learning and learns the relevant sentences. It can reflect the gradual and hierarchical content of the textbook so that students can master the contents and can use the knowledge to communicate.

二、学习者特征分析

Students who have just been promoted from primary school to junior high school have only a preliminary understanding of English. Most of the children’ s basic knowledge of English and their ability of listening , speaking , reading and writing are relatively weak , and everyone ’s mastery of English is different . And students didn’t develop good English learning habits. Therefore, for this type of students, hierarchical teaching and integrated teaching are combined. In the teaching design, the students are divided into several groups, and each group includes different levels of students. Group work is good for them to learn from each other and help each other. Through group activities and competitions, stimulate students’ interest in learning and initiative. In addition, according to students’ emotional attitude, learning strategies, cultural awareness and other aspects, we will continue to improve the teaching mode to help students improve and cultivate their learning habits.
