一、教材内容分析

This unit is the fifth unit of the second volume of the seventh grade in the People's Education Edition. The content of the textbook is based on the topic of our good friend "animals", which is closely related to our human life. Focusing on the function of "describing animals and expressing opinions", through the learning of animal words, we can understand the adjectives describing animals so as to achieve the purpose of describing our own opinions. Learn to use “what”, “who” and “where” to guide questions to understand a series of questions about the habitat and characteristics of animals. In order to form students' good understanding of animals, it’s necessary to cultivate students to love animals, protect animals, and regard animals as our best partners. At the same time, we should improve our abilities of cooperation and communication in learning, and improve our English level in communication with classmates and teachers. Through the study of this unit, students can make use of knowledge about nature, understand and analyze the real situation, and express their opinions fluently in English. There are 4 class hours in this unit.

二、学习者特征分析

After entering the seventh grade, students are just at the beginning stage. Most students are still unfamiliar with English, have a certain sense of freshness, but have a high enthusiasm for learning, which is the advantage of English learning. However, students have just come into contact with English, and their knowledge is relatively poor, so they are easy to lose confidence. Therefore, teachers should make use of students' enthusiasm and curiosity, combine with their reality, start from their life, and cultivate their English learning habits. At the same time, encourage students to be positive, arouse their interest, pay attention to the cultivation of listening and speaking ability, and lay a good foundation for later English learning.         Students are in the stage of forming values. The purpose of this course is to let students understand the importance of harmonious coexistence between human and nature, and cultivate people who need society by cultivating their love for animals.
