一、教材内容分析

 

This unit is the ninth unit in Grade 8. This unit mainly focuses on talking about past experiences, and the grammar point is present perfect tense. In Section A, students are supposed to know some words about different kinds of museums.And students can develop listening and speaking ability. Besides, students can use present perfect tense to make the conversation with their partners. Also,students can talk about the most interesting museums they have ever been to. They will improve their reading ability, for example, they can develop skimming and scanning skills by reading the article. Section B introduces more about different kinds of places, such as the Terracotta Army, the Great Wall, the Bird’s Nest and the Palace Museum. Students can also develop the writing ability through the article in 2b, this article is about Singapore, including the location ,people, food and place of interest, etc. Students can learn some writing skills in this passage and can write an article to advertise their hometown or the place they have been to. 

 

二、学习者特征分析

 

Grade 8 students are generally interested in English and they’ve already had some knowledge about English. They want to find a way to learn English more effectively. Therefore, some extended knowledge and tasks will involve them in teaching and give them more opportunities to use English. Through cooperative learning among students, students’ learning difficulty can be reduced. Thus students of all levels will experience the joy of success, improve their ability to use language comprehensively, and make  progress rapidly
