Abstract
With the cultural and economic development of various countries, people began to understand and appreciate foreign cultures. China has a history of more than 5,000 years, and tang poetry is the treasure of Chinese traditional culture. The translation of poetry should try its best to reproduce the characteristics of the original poem. As the first person to translate poetry into English and French, professor Xu Yuanchong put forward three beauties principle of translation.This paper first gives a brief introduction to tang poetry and its translator Xu Yuanchong, then reviews the research status of Xu Yuanchong's translation theory and practice as well as the English translation of tang poetry, and discusses the development process of traditional Chinese translation studies and the theoretical basis of this paper. Taking "three hundred poems of tang dynasty" as an example, according to Xu Yuanchong's theory of three beauties as the theoretical guidance, this paper selects the specific linguistic phenomenon as the research object, and studies how the translator can reproduce the sound, form and meaning beauty in the original tang poems through the hierarchical discussion of the original poems and Xu's translation, so as to discuss the aesthetic value of Xu Yuanchong's theory of three beauties in detail. And the comparative studies between Xu translation and other translation, after the analysis of its theory and practice concluded that Xu Yuanchong as aesthetic subject in translation has played a main initiative, creative translation of the original text, reproduce the original text inner beauty, so as to achieve the purpose of better spread the Chinese traditional culture.
