Abstract
The new curriculum standard states that the English curriculum assumes the task of developing students’ thinking ability. The thinking of junior middle school students is often subjective and one-sided. It is very important to cultivate students’ thinking ability scientifically and reasonably. Reading teaching has always been the subject of English teaching. But most of the current teaching focuses on objectivity. Reading teaching is an important way to cultivate students’ thinking ability. Teachers are required to arrange various thinking training activities. This article proposes strategies for cultivating students’ thinking ability from three aspects: logical, critical and creative thinking.
