摘要：近年来，随着中国国际地位的不断提高和国际影响力的不断扩大，外交部“两会”期间的新闻发布会越来越受到世界的关注。这类新闻发布会受众广泛，话题涉及政治、经济、外交等多个领域。在新闻发布会上发布或传达的信息全面、权威、准确，说话者的措辞和表达简明扼要。释意理论作为口译的一般指导理论，充分体现了忠实原则，适用于外交部新闻发布会的口译工作。然而，我国对新闻发布会口译的研究还不多，将其与释意理论相结合的研究更是寥寥无几。因此，本文以释意理论为指导，对2014年至2019年两会期间外交部新闻发布会上的双语文本进行分析，并探讨其忠实性的体现和所用到的口译策略。在释意理论的指导下，口译员应经历理解、脱离语言外壳和重组三个阶段。在这一过程中，忠实原则主要体现在两个方面:忠实于说话人的意图和忠实于目的语的表达方式。结果表明，在外交部新闻发布会上，除了直译外，口译员还采取了增译、省略、解释性翻译、替代等策略。此外，对诗歌、成语、四字结构的引用以及其他具有中国特色的表达方式的翻译一直是译员的难题。因此，笔者认为，口译员不仅要提高自己的专业技能，还要丰富自己的知识储备。
