摘要：英语听力教学在英语教学中占有重要地位。然而传统听力教学模式存在局限，学生听力水平难以得到提高。语用推理作为认知语用学的重要部分，可以被界定为听话人根据会话原则，利用各种语境因素，从字面意义推出说话人隐含意义的过程。在听力教学中，话语理解就是学生推理、寻求关联、获取信息的过程。本文从认知语用学的视角，主要以会话含意理论和关联理论为理论框架，以英语专业四级考试真题为语料，说明语用推理和听力理解的关系，分析在听力理解中如何通过语用推理帮助学生提高英语听力理解能力。研究发现：（1）语用推理在英语听力教学中的运用有利于挺高学生的听力理解能力。（2）本研究为中国的的英语听力教学提供教学建议，如：教师在听力课堂中讲解语用推理的定义和理论知识、在听前讲解词汇意思和背景知识、在听的过程中引导学生寻找最佳关联、传授话语标记的知识，从而提高学生的语用推理能力。本文从认知语用学的角度为英语听力教学提供理论参考，为教师提供教学启示从而帮助学生提高听力理解能力。
