中文摘要：语言作为一种社会现象，是社会实践的产物，因此语言总是在各种语言环境中使用。理解语言和使用语言离不开语境。许多著名语言学家对语境进行了研究，并取得了一些成就。语境是人们在交际中理解和使用的主要因素，它对理解英语内容起着重要的作用。一方面，将语境融入英语学习有助于人们更好地理解英语，提高自己的学习效率和工作效率。另一方面，将语境融入英语学习可以帮助人们理解英语文化，更好地理解对方话语中所表达的意义和情感。根据马林诺夫斯基研究，本文主要从语言语境、情境语境和社会文化语境三个方面论述语境的功能。首先介绍了语境的研究现状，主要回顾了语境的定义，分类和功能。其次本文分析了语境和话语分析的关系，并详细论述了语言语境、情景语境和文化语境在篇章分析中的作用。最后我们得出结论，作为英语师范生，应把语境的功能充分应用到学科教学中，从而达到良好的教学效果。
