摘要：《嘉莉妹妹》是著名作家西奥多·德莱塞于1900年出版的著作，书中揭露了社会的黑暗面，为当时的美国文学界带来了一场革命。小说描写了美国乡村女孩嘉莉从懵懂的乡村女孩到成为红极一时的女演员的故事。在小说中，戏院贯穿始终，在研读文本后，我们发现戏剧对于嘉莉的成长影响不可忽视。

本文通过研究女主人公嘉莉的女性意识成长的三个阶段，具体探讨了戏剧如何影响嘉莉女性意识的成长。本文从两个方面展开，一是通过文本分析以及时间段划分分析嘉莉的女性意识觉醒具体阶段；二是通过分析以小见大，得出戏剧对嘉莉女性意识觉醒的意义。经过研究，嘉莉的女性意识成长可分为三个阶段：萌芽、觉醒、成熟。可以说戏剧对于主人公嘉莉女性意识的觉醒在不同阶段中由小到大地起作用。它是城市生活的缩影，也是嘉莉独立生活和成功的基石。嘉莉从演戏中获得的满足感和自豪感令她明白自己的价值，并帮助嘉莉明确自己的人生方向，走向身心独立。
