一、教材内容分析  

This unit is from the People Education Series Unit 3 of volume 1 of Grade 8. Through comparing appearance and personality between classmates or friends, this unit not only aims at improving students' listening and speaking ability as well as grammar mastery, but also guides them to make objective evaluation of others, to cherish good classmate friendship and sincere friendship. Because the content is close to real life, in addition to high learning interest and class participation, students have a strong desire for expression,  so the learning effect is relatively good. The important and difficult point of this section is to allow students to evaluate others objectively and express their views correctly.

 

二、学习者特征分析

After four years of primary school and one year of middle school English learning, Grade 8 students have a certain English foundation, but they are also prone to fatigue period. The gap between some students and others is widening, resulting in listening halfheartedness or even giving up English learning. As a teacher, one must discover problems in time and actively seek solutions, such as stimulating students' interest in learning through a variety of teaching methods and teaching tools. Through a variety of teaching activities and content connected with reality to set actual situations, teachers can increase the chances of students using the language and encourage them to take the initiative to learn.
