一、教材内容分析

The unit is from the textbook published by People’s Education Press. The theme of this unit is to learn to use the simple past tense to describe things that happened in the past.  Attention should be paid to the development of students’ intelligence, and teaching materials should also be used when designing teaching plans. The main task of this unit is to master the nouns of places that appear in this unit, and to use phrases and sentence patterns about asking and answering things that happened in the past, such as Where did you go...? I went to... Did you go out with anyone? How was the food? Everything tasted ... This unit is not only relevant to students’ lives, but also practices and helps students to communicate with others with confidence. The key point is students can use the newly learned sentence patterns to communicate with others. The difficult point is the use of reflexive pronouns and the conversation of indefinite pronouns like“someone” and “anyone”.

二、学习者特征分析

Students in the second year of junior high school are more mature than those in the first year, and understand and accept knowledge faster. In addition, in the previous study, they also have some contact with the past tense, although they are not familiar with it, which is also beneficial to teachers' teaching. However, some people think that the second grade is the  "most dangerous" stage of the whole middle school, because the second grade students are the most difficult to manage, which requires teachers not only to instill boring knowledge to the students, but also to impart knowledge to the students through some games or other ways to keep them interested. Students in Grade 2 are also expected to be independent, so teacher should not teach students every step directly, but give them more space to think independently and learn by themselves.
